While waiting to go through the metal detectors at the NoGi Pan this morning, one may have wondered why they seem to have the same issues every year with apparently no effort towards improvement? Many of those who arrived early hoping to have time to warm-up for their 9am division were surprised to still be in line outside up until go time.

Saturday 21st April 2012 saw the 1st Women’s BJJ Competition that was held at Camberley Judo club in Surrey, home to Carlson Gracie Camberley. The morning event was filled with the aspiring kids competition and the afternoon was the Women’s.

The IBJJF has done it again. This time they are prohibiting 2011 Purple Belt Open Weight World Champion 16 yr old Dominyka Obelenyte from competing in IBJJF tournaments this year because she is underage.

The World Championships are exactly 6 weeks away and ladies all over the world are competing in smaller tournaments in preparation. Tournaments held today included the first women only competitions in London, England and Arizona, United States (Copa Bella Female Tournament run by Gustavo Dantes) plus the IBJJF NY Open was held in New York City.
